The presence of international banks, insurance companies, finance companies, currency exchange offices, real estate companies and foreign currency drafting services, ensure a total coverage of any kind of financial service.
Mendoza has all foreign trade services offered by first rate international and local companies: credit lines, bond insurance and international factoring; the presence of accounting studios associated with international consultant companies for accounting and auditing services; international maritime, air and land transport companies; more than 20 logistic operators, document management services, deliveries, and cargo conditioning, among others.
The Customs office of Mendoza is the most important land connection with Chile, with daily traffic of more than a thousand trucks. It has modern systems of cargo control and a dry port.
Electric Energy, Gas, Water and Telecommunications
There are private companies which offer these services with international quality in Mendoza.
The Province supplies more than 300,000 residential, commercial and industrial gas clients.
The water service covers 91% of the Province, with more than 1,400,000 users.
Mendoza is an important producer of electric energy at national level. It has an integrated system of 13 hydroelectric centrals in the Mendoza, Tunuyán, Diamante and Atuel Rivers, which have the double function of taking advantage of their power in a clean and sustainable manner, and of regulating the irrigation for the productive oases. They produce a total of 3,550 GWh, and there are feasible projects for more than 7,300 GWh. Mendoza also has thermoelectric centrals in Luján de Cuyo and Cruz de Piedra, which generate 2,780 GWh, with a possible expansion; potential to develop eolian energy in at least four localities (Polvaredas, Las Cuevas, Malargue and Punta de Vacas); a uranium field which could supply the Argentinean nuclear centrals for life; and an exceptional solar radiation of more than 600 g-cal/cm per day, outstanding at international level, which has favored venturing into the use of solar energy in inhospitable rural zones.
