Evolution of Building GGP 2002 = Base 100

In Mendoza there are local companies which have carried out very important hydro-electrical works, such as the recent Potrerillos Dam. This is 120 m high and it was completely built in high mountains –considering the civil work as well as the hydro-electric machinery to produce more than 500 GWh- by Mendocinean companies.

Other international projects completely developed by local companies include the construction of 5-star hotels -of chains such as Hyatt and Sheraton-, and high mountain ski centers.

In the last years, Mendoza has received strong investments in the vine-growing and wine-making sector, accompanied by the building of wineries with state-of-the-art technology of local design, development and construction.

There exists a sector of high development potential and unsatisfied demand in Premium areas such as the vine-growing and wine-making estates, of recent appearance in the world market; the infrastructure of ecological and boutique tourism; and the private real estate developments.

Mendoza has the most important world supplier of plaster boards, Knauf, with a plant which mainly exports to Latin America.
