Almost 80% of Mendoza’s territory is suitable for cattle breeding. This activity does not overlap with agriculture due to the lack of rainfall. At present, a profitable breeding can be carried out and, as long as the infrastructure of the fields improves, its receptivity will increase and the business will be more advantageous. |

Cattle re-breeding (weaning until winter) and cattle fattening (starting in winter) could be carried out in fields with irrigation right under the IRG system (intensive rotary grazing). Both activities may be performed based on alfalfa or on a kind of feet-lot with a supply of alfalfa rolls and grains (sorghum or corn). Silos with sorghum or corn hayed under the lactic fermentation system can also be used.
It is important to consider that the province of Mendoza yearly consumes around 380,000 heads of cattle brought from nearby provinces, consequently implying a captive market. Besides, Chile imports more than 170,000 tons of boneless meat per year. Considering this fact, we think that Mendoza could be the best supplier.
We are talking about a product with a growing international demand. Therefore, a long term investment plan can be granted. There is a high international demand of meat, especially "premium" -British breeds such as Angus, Shorthorn, Hereford o their crossbreedings. This is a growing trend since the GDP per capita in South-eastern Asian countries, China, India and Eastern Europe is rising. Besides, Europe, Russia, Israel and Chile are strong demanding markets. This situation is particularly relevant for Mendoza, since the province offers the appropriate climate to develop such premium breeds.
It is worth mentioning that there are several cold storage plants in the province of Mendoza which could be adapted to comply with all the necessary requirements; in fact, some of them are already prepared for the domestic market as well as for Chile.

This year 2007 we have become 50 years old, and it is a period of time in which we have achieved a sustained growth in the production, packaging and industrialization of cherries. We have found in Mendoza the necessary micro-climate for the obtainment of the best productions, particularly in the regions of Uco Valley, Vistalba, Maipú and Las Heras. We are present in the most demanding markets in the world, with a high level of competitiveness and quality of our products. See more
